TONGUE RIVER ARTIST RESIDENCY
Rivers are alive with pulsing rhythm, gentle lapping, ebb and flow. Sunlight on the water creates myriad reflections on the surface, and shadows below. The Tongue River rushes over rocks, swirls around logs, and meanders through lowlands. Photographing reflections of the river at different times of day, and in a variety of movements, I experimented with juxtaposing the river’s natural waves of light with the plants that depend on the river for survival. The emerging images speak of the bond that weaves through the river and the life around it.
